Local Digital Twins for Positive Energy Districts: OASC Summit 2024

Registration now open for the LDT4PED session at this year's OASC Summit held in Rotterdam.

As part of the conference, BIPED is co-organising together with exPEDite and TIPS4PED a session to explore the enabling role of LDT in PED development.

Both are relatively new concepts, so one of the goals of the session is to provide real-life examples of how cities are using the digital twin technology to drive sustainable outcomes.

What are the main characteristics of PED digital twins? How can they support energy transition that is green, digital and just? And why focus on district-level decarbonisation?

The session will address these and other questions by drawing upon case studies from pioneering cities Aarhus, Riga and Turin.

The speakers will provide local insights on what works best in different contexts, while also covering implementation challenges and ways to overcome them, including through interoperability and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

This year’s theme, Connecting Local Digital Ecosystems Through Interoperability, highlights OASC's commitment to support cities and local communities to collaborate on digital transformation via the fluent sharing of data in and between cities and local communities. The event will look into the strategies, processes and technologies that can help cities do that. The Summit will explore the different layers of interoperability and scrutinize what is needed for a city or local community to take steps in the field of data and knowledge sharing and communicating systems.

The OASC Summit is an open invitation to all OASC members, partners, stakeholders from government, academia, business and civil society interested in digital transformation, to get together in Rotterdam and collaboratively shape the future of digital ecosystems.
