Podcast on EU Cities Mission
Inspired by the moon landing and other major breakthroughs of the 20th century, the EU took a mission-oriented approach to the Horizon Europe programme for 2021-2027. Bold and measurable objectives were set to steer funding for research and innovation in several areas key to sustainable and resilient development: health, climate, built environment, natural ecosystems. Out of five adopted missions, one is tasked with delivering 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030.
In this episode, we sat down with two experts from NetZeroCities, a platform dedicated to the the implementation of the EU Cities Mission:
Angelica Gomez is a Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano and a UX/UI designer. She contributes to capability-building and learning activities for cities through NetZeroCities
Marco Grippa is Policy and Project Manager at ERRIN, European Regions Research and Innovation Network, with a background in energy and climate topics, he contributes to policy work and partnerships for the energy system and built environment cluster within NetZeroCities
